The Spring Hair Style - Sleek and Natural

"Even if you're not achieving a firecracker look with a bob or massive truncation of the locks, a color change could just as easily propel tired hair into emerging trend. Whether as an accent color or all-over shade, red is the hot-button hue for spring and summer '08, "says Blando. "Other earthy, natural tones including copper and gold are hot."

"My personal favorite upcoming trends for '08 will be adding more copper and reds to brunettes," Blando says. Style approaches will go both flat and full-bodied, with flat irons returning to the fore along with curling irons. "The emphasis will be on emphasizing the natural texture of the hair," says Blando, "as opposed to last spring's edgy feel."

Whatever heat you apply to hair, conditioning treatments remain important, since training the hair with curling or straightening tools demands repair. Blando mixes Moroccan oil in with color treatments and shampoo to sooth hair damage. Keep in mind both color treatments and short hair re-quire more maintenance, with salon visits recommended every four to six weeks. For a less drastic alternative to sheering off swaths of hair, try underpinning, which doesn't involve an actual cut.

The process is "great for people who aren't ready to part with their length," says Blando. If you have super-long hair and want to try out a shorter cut, go to a middle length first, he says, which will also let you see how the shorter-tressed half lives without making you risk months of hat hair.
